Biography: Martin is a principal in AKT's healthcare services division. He has more than 18 years of experience in advising health care and tax-exempt organization clients. Martin's experience includes representing hospitals, healthcare systems, academic medical centers, health maintenance organizations and physician practices. He has represented these clients in examinations before the IRS (including several large case or CEP IRS examinations), hospital spin-offs and mergers, physician practice acquisitions, joint venture negotiation and structuring, physician and executive compensation arrangements, compensation opinions and organizational restructurings.

Previously, Martin was the director of healthcare tax for the Pacific Northwest with a Big Four accounting firm. Prior to that he worked for a regional law firm.

He is the former Chairman of the Board of the United Way of the Columbia Willamette and the Treasurer of the Northwest Academy. Martin frequently speaks on issues related to healthcare.
